Powder Orange Isopod Care

Thank you for reading, I am here to talk to you about how easy it is to take care of these critters. Below is what has worked for me.

You will need:

Soil, no additives.

A small tub - 16in in length, 11in in width, and about 7in in height. Poke small holes, at the top of the container and some on the sides at the top.

Sphagnum Moss - Mix in with the soil.

Leaf litter, Oak is what I used. Put some leaf litter on top of the soil mixture.

Cork Bark set on top of the soil mixture for the Isopods to eat and hide under.

Isopods can eat: Leaf Litter, decaying wood and bark, decaying plant matter, and some sort of protein, I give mine some dead mealworms from the colonies I have. You can also do fish flakes and freeze-dried shrimp for a treat. This helps the breeding process along as well. These isopods eat carrots as well as other veg I have found they like carrots the best out of all that I have tried. I also mix egg shells in with my soil 🙂

Keep at least one side moist at all times, mist at least once a week. Also, try not to over water or you may see mold start to grow.
